Planning a Washington Golf Road Trip?
Use this in-depth golf trip itinerary as a basis to assist in planning your ultimate golf getaway to "The Evergreen State."
In this guide, we will detail a West to East Washington golf road trip—which hopefully minimizes stress & maximizes golf—first hiking the fairways of Chambers Bay and The Home Course, before heading East to Prospector & Gamble Sands.
Drive Σ: Sea-Tac Int. Airport (SEA) -> University Place, WA.
Upon arrival into Seattle-Tacoma International Airport— we start off with loading the clubs into a rental and we head south towards University Place, Washington.
Lodging:
We recommend finding something near Chambers Bay or The Home Course, (we personally detest long course commutes) so, as long as you find somewhere South of Tacoma you'll be good—University Place / Steilacoom area is best in our opinion.
Dining:
The region is known for some of the freshest seafood in the states; so if you're feeling crab or sushi—there are many great options around.
Golf Points of Interest:
*We recommend a good breakfast, some snacks, an extra pair of socks (or two) and plenty of water for today.
Tonight we recommend some ibuprofen, light stretching and foam rolling before bed.
Tomorrow starts easy with check-out and load up for travel East to play Rope Rider tomorrow afternoon at Suncadia Resort.
Drive Σ: University Place, WA -> Cle Elm, WA.
PM Round at the Rope Rider Course (check-in for golf inside the Swiftwater Cellars Winery)
Tomorrow's agenda includes:
Check-out from the resort (bag check available) & an AM Round on Prospector, then load-up and travel ~2 hours 45 minutes to the Inn at Gamble Sands.
Again, we recommend a soak, some ibuprofen, a bit of foam rolling and a light stretch before bed.
Tomorrow's agenda: Gamble Sands & Scarecrow.
What's Scarecrow? Only the latest David McLay Kidd course!
*Who else is excited for DMK's latest to drop in Aug. 2025?
Drive Σ: Brewster, WA -> Spokane Int. Airport, Spokane, WA.
